Paul McCartney’s Indian Vegetarian Day And Other Veg Friendly Holidays

Paul McCartney is getting the thumbs up from top Hindu leaders in India for his proposal of implementing a vegetarian holiday in the nation.
Statesman Rajan Zed of the Universal Society of Hinduism, told WENN, “We, as Hindus, promote strict vegetarianism insisting on not harming living creatures and renouncing animal slaughter and meat eating.”
“Eating less meat would help the environment and more celebrities should come out in support of staying away from meat, thus contributing to a healthier world.”
McCartney is urging India to declare such a day to raise awareness for animal suffering.
There’s always room for another vegetarian holiday, but were you aware that several veg-friendly days already exists? World Vegetarian Day is October 1st and World Vegan Day is November 1st. On or around March 20th, the U.S. and several other countries participate in National Meatout Day. And April is National Soy Foods Month. Many days promoting animal welfare, adoption and wildlife awareness exist too.

The obvious day to choose would be October 2. That is Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. The three great British musical performers who help animals are Paul McCartney, Brian May and Jeff Beck. Three of the most talented music performers in rock history too. Jeff Beck is arguably the best living guitarist. Brian May is one of the five best living guitarists. McCartney and Lennon were inarguably the best songwriting team ever.
