Quantcast Vegetarian StarAlicia Silverstone’s Style And San Francisco’s First Vegan Fashion Show

Alicia Silverstone is truly a model for vegan fashion, not only due to her classic screen looks and fit body, but through her compassionate animal rights values she’s promoted through her website, The Kind Life, and her vegan lifestyle and cookbook, The Kind Diet.

Collegefashion.net has compiled what is says are the actress’ favorite styles. Either the Billabong bag or Matt & Nat clutch (bottom: left and middle) complement the Chinese Laundry heels (top: left) and the black Mod Cloth bag (bottom: right) goes well with the Fashion-Conscience Ankle boots (top: right), but what do you pair with the Mod Cloth purple pumps (top: middle)? The answer could be a Steve Madden Katia Medium Eggplant Purple Vegan Satchel at Alternative Outfitters or at the first ever San Francisco Vegan Fashion Show on October 2nd.

Taking place at 4:45 PM at the Golden Gate Park Auditorium, the San Francisco Vegan Fashion show will feature designs from companies like Vaute Couture, Reco Jeans, Melie Bianco and Cri De Coeur.

Karine Brighten, owner of Karine Brighten Events and a board member of the San Francisco Vegetarian Society, is the pioneer who organized the event, and she told the San Francisco Examiner she went vegan 4 years after her husband took a course in law school.

“I learned all about factory farming and it really opened my eyes. We made the decision together and haven’t looked back since.”

Brighten was just as shocked as you may be to learn a vegan fashion show had never taken place in the city.

“When I moved here a year ago, I did some research and was surprised to see it had never been done before. Vegan fashion is now more important than ever for environmental issues and animal rights.”
