Lion Burger On Il Vinaio Menu To Honor World Cup Soccer Games

A restaurant near Phoenix, Arizona has put lion burgers on the menu in celebration of the World Cup soccer games in Africa, reports the New York Daily News.
Can’t see why a colored black and white popcorn ball wouldn’t do the trick, but okay.
“We thought that since the World Cup was in Africa … that the lion burger might be interesting for some of our more adventurous customers,” said owner Cameron Selogie.
This creative thinking has gotten Il Vinaio 250 (so far) angry e-mails from animal rights activists and outcries from regular customers.
The lions are said to be reared in Illinois (mental note not to buy property near wherever that area is) on a USDA regulated farm. Normally, we’d be all for “cage-free” and “free-range,” but in the case of a 400 pound wild animal, we hope, for the neighbors’ sake, they’re well contained.
The owner claims consuming the farmed lions don’t hurt the endangered ones, it’s not so bad to eat kitties.
The burger consists of lion meat mixed with ground beef and comes with spicy chips and corn on the cob.
It doesn’t, however, come with the much needed vomit bag at the dinner table.
