Chloe Coscarelli Wins “Cupcake Wars” With Vegan Cupcakes
Written by Vegetarian Star on June 23rd, 2010 in Chefs, Food & Drink, Reality TV.
Chloe Coscarelli has won the 2nd episode of Cupcake Wars on the Food Network!
The cupcakes that impressed the judges were Ginger Nutmeg Spice with Date Caramel Drizzle, Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake, Crème-filled Chocolate Orange with Candied Orange Peel, and Raspberry Tiramisu. Coscarelli received $10,000 for beating out dairy and egg cupcakes and was able to show off her vegan catering talents for a celebrity party hosted by Ok! Magazine.
The 23 year old gave VegNews an interview, revealing both she and other people were shocked at the fact a mainstream food show chose vegan sweets as favorites.
“Quite honestly, I think most people were shocked that the judges would choose a vegan cupcake over a “traditional” one. Let’s face it—it was a huge risk! Even one of the other contestants admitted to me in the middle of the competition that they expected me to go home first because my cupcakes were vegan. I hope everyone who watches is reminded to believe in themselves, even when no one else does.”
Coscarelli said she found out some of her favorite celebrities were vegan at the Ok! Magazine celebrity party, like Chelsea Hightower from So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars.

i have watch this show twice and both times i knew who the winner was at the beginning NOT RIGHT
the judges do not know how to be fair and honest
in my book these are not judges like Chopped
the judges either like everything the person has and HATES everyone else
this show is a dud

I love cupcake wars and am excited aboutt he ‘vegan’ cupcakes. Veganism is pure and clean and the only thing that really turns me off is that Chloe has all these tatoos, that is not pure and clean. So truly you are contradicting veganism. are you a true vegan?

I want to opologize for previous comment about the tatoos, it may not be Chloe….oops
