Vegan athletes have one more option for protein powders.
All-Pro-Science, the supplement company founded by Tony Gonzalez, comes in a completely vegan variety, in addition to its whey formula derived from grass fed cows.
The football player who follows a mostly vegetarian diet told ESPN how his trials and frustrations with several other protein powders in the kitchen led to the idea of All-Pro-Science.
“I was mixing a little of this and a little of that. I had to buy so many things. It was expensive and inconvenient,” Gonzalez said. “Also you never know what you’re getting in those, and my body is my moneymaker so I want to know everything I’m putting in it.”
Free of milk, soy, wheat and gluten, the vegan powder contains 23 grams of brown rice, pea and hemp protein, 107 calories, 4 grams of carbohydrates and 1.5 grams of fat per serving.
