Whale Wars Crew Gets Three Vegan Meals A Day Between Shoot-Outs

The Animal Planet television series, “Whale Wars,” premiered on November 7, 2008. If you’re looking to watch a vegan, eco-pirate show, this may for you.
The heavily Hayden Panettiere promoted show stars Captain Paul Watson, who founded the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. He and his crew on the boat named “Steve Irwin” after the late crocodile hunter, attempt to non-violently stop Japanese ships from hunting whales that are to be later used in research purposes.
The crew is fed three vegan meals every day, as was revealed in the introductory episode. No word on if every one on board is completely vegan or if the Captain just has some strict rules about what happens on his boat.
Some of the tactics the crew uses to deter the whale hunters are throwing stink bombs filled with rancid butter on the ships.
And this is not your typical peaceful protest. In one episode, Watson was allegedly shot, but was protected by his bulletproof vest.
Is this Whale Wars or Cops?
It will be interesting to see if veganism comes up in future episodes between shoot ’em up moments with the hunters.

FYI; Paul Watson is not a vegan at all. He does eat meat and his fridge is loaded with steaks!! Get your facts right!

Joe,
We never said Paul was a vegan. We said the crew is fed three vegan meals a day.
We also stated we weren’t sure if everyone on the ship was vegan (which would include Paul) and only jokingly suggested that he might be like Morrissey.
“No word on if every one on board is completely vegan”
“or if the Captain just has some strict rules about what happens on his boat.”
Thanks for stopping by.

Paul Watson is not vegan. I had to pleasure of surving under him once. He loves tuna, red snapper not to mention clams.

This is a thought for the whalers… why not put some hooks on the bottom keel of your boat… this will catch and stop the prop fowlers from reaching your props… when you are clear you can free the lines by simply reversing. Please pass this on if you are in touch with the whalers! I would love to see my idea in action.

What do you think Paul? I don’t know, their whalers, they don’t think like you and I.
That is right the whalers are efficient and well organized in what they do.

It’s true that Veganstar never claimed Paul Watson was vegan, or even a vegitarian. But in an interview with Japanese children, Paul Watson said “I don’t eat the flesh of any animal.” Which according to David Morris, a man who wrote the book Earth Warrior and volunteered with Watson, is a complete lie. According to Morris, Watson eats meat and fish and regards veganism as “Philosophical lunacy”
