Taco Bell may have angered a few of its vegetarian fans when it created a Superbowl ad that made fun of eating veggies on game day, but if you consider the fast food establishment during any other time of the year, it’s a pretty good place to score an inexpensive plant-based dish.

Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt & Taco Bell Raise Awareness For World Hunger

Taco Bell has set up shop in India.

Hopefully, for the citizens’ sake, Heidi and Spencer won’t rush there to try the paneer tacos anytime soon.

In a country known for its vegetarian dishes, the fast food giant has compromised to fit the culture’s standards at its first restaurant in Bangalore.

Half the menu is vegetarian, with such items denoted by a green dot.

Tacos can be topped with native cheeses like paneer and a potato taco (a crunchy, Mexican flavored samosa-like treat?) is also available.

“It took us over two years to perfect our three Vs for India — value, vegetarian and variety,” said Taco Bell’s general manager in India, Ashok Bajpai.

Two additional restaurants are expected to open in Bangalore this year, with the goal of 100 by 2015.
