“Self Magazine” Names Least Nutritious Veggies

Not all vegetables are tastefully equal. Nobody will admit to liking an iceberg lettuce salad over arugula and walnuts, but it’s also important to remember you won’t get as much Vitamin A from it.

Self magazine has named the three least nutrient dense veggies. None of the vegetables are completely without nutritional value, but Self recommends swapping some of the lower nutrient dense veggies like celery and iceberg lettuce for plants that pack more goodness like carrots and romaine lettuce.

Self Magazine searched for the healthiest packaged foods. Packaged is normally associated with health “no-nos” like partially hydrogenated oils, trans fats, high fructose corn syrup and a load of preservatives. But Self was able to find several items that escaped these horrors, and many on the list are vegetarian.

The Boca Savory Mushroom Mozzarella veggie burger came in first place for best veggie burger and it can easily be paired with the also featured Kettle Baked Slow Cooked Chips.

But did you know the country music vegetarian beauty also likes to indulge in pizza?
