These Stiletto pumps by Stella McCartney are a stretch pricewise from the new Payless eco-friendly collection, but if you can shell out $995, they may help you attain the South Beach lifestyle in a more environmentally friendly way.

After Miami Beach was ripped apart by Treehugger.com for being less than kind to Mother Earth, Miami New Times decided to compile of list of items that allow you to live the South Beach Lifestyle without having your green morals go south.

Besides Stella’s pumps, there’s also Baggu’s Foldable Nylon Bags for all your reusable shopping bag needs and cotton/bamboo mix beach towels from Seaglass Organic.

Don’t forget to slather on your Badger sunscreen with 60% organic materials and zinc oxide versus synthetic chemicals.

51st Annual Grammy Awards - Show

On Saturday, March 28th at 8:30 PM, Earth Hour will take place.

People all around the world will turn off their lights for an hour, taking a stand for reducing carbon emissions.

If you plan to turn your lights out, why not invite Radiohead’s vegan Thom Yorke to spend time in the dark with you? Musically, that is. Don’t know what you were thinking.

GreenLivingOnline.com has compiled a list of top earth friendly musicians you can put on your playlist for the evening, including Radiohead.

“Not that we need more reasons to love Thom Yorke and Radiohead, but the U.K. band is also striving to reduce carbon emissions. When touring overseas, band members transport their gear via sea and avoid chartered flights. Recently, they stayed home and telecommuted to Late Night with Conan O’Brian rather than flying. Yorke is also a long-time vegan and his solo album, The Eraser, speaks directly to climate crisis issues. radiohead.com “

We’re sure Fake Plastic Trees degrade much faster than real plastic ones. Go Radiohead!

Other green musicians on the list include pescetarian KT Tunstall, who hangs out in her green designed home when she’s not on the road, and the Beastie Boys, who use biofuel on tour and participate in cell phone recycling programs.

Jason Mraz, the only vegan man who can make avocado and chocolate go good together, has a photography book out, A Thousand Things.

“I just wanted to let people see some of the things I’ve seen,” Mraz told PopEater. “The book contains images I’ve taken all over the world.”

The book not only captures the world, it’s kinder to it as well. From his website:

“This eco-friendly book was printed with soy-based inks on FSC- and ISO-certified woodfree paper. The cover stock is also FSC-certified, fully recyclable, and chlorine free. Environmentally harmless glues were used in the binding process, and all printing films, plates, and waste paper were recycled.”

“I just think it’s necessary to find an alternative solution so we can have less of an impact on our community,” he added.

The photographs were all shot with the nearly extinct Polaroid camera, which allowed Jason to retain his mellow personality, slowing down to capture life in its purest form.

“Digital Cameras are like automatic weapons. You’ll most likely hit your target. The Classic Polaroid Camera is the suction cup dart gun of this advancing age. Thus, my Polaroid hobby invites me to slow down and see more on my walk through life.”

You can view a sample of the photos in Jason’s book, then order a copy for yourself.
