Daniella Monet is helping students in the Houston Independent School District kick off a brand new Meatless Monday campaign.
The actress visited Gregory Lincoln Education Center to celebrate “Lean & Green Day.”
Known for her role as Trina Vega on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, Monet ate lunch with students, toured the school’s garden and spoke during one of its culinary classes about the benefits of plant-based meals.
“Eating less meat can mean exploring new and exciting foods or just enjoying your favorite foods too,” Monet says in a video for the Humane Society.
“There are tons of vegetarian options, like savory veggie dogs and meat-free chicken nuggets and almost all fast-food chains have a veggie burger or a bean burrito.”
“Try Meatless Monday. It’s an almost way to ease into a better lifestyle.”
