A native Sochi will be competing in this year’s Winter Olympics on a plant-based diet, making both his country and his fellow vegetarians proud.
Alexey Voyevoda is featured in an article in the Moscow Times, where he discusses the responsibility he feels to represent Russia and to promote wholesome living.
“My role as one of the ambassadors of the Games is to promote sport, to encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle,” the Russian bobsledder said.
Voyevoda has been eating a raw vegetarian diet for over two years, indicating he’s been able to train with the team on such a diet with no problems.
In addition to letting his diet speak for itself, Voyevoda expressed an interest in encouraging Russians to get healthier by participating in more physical activity.
