Ellen DeGeneres shared with People what she and wife Portia might eat for their Thanksgiving feast.
The two celebrities both follow a plant-based diet and have been very active with animal rights groups.
“It doesn’t make [Thanksgiving] harder at all. It makes it easier on the turkeys, too. They get to live,” Degeneres said.
So what’s easy to fix that’s also easy on the turkeys?
“Yams, green beans, stuffing … any kind of vegetables. Stuff like that,” she said.
Don’t forget there’s more than greens and bread to a vegan’s Thanksgiving feast.
Faux turkey meat and dishes made from plant-based proteins like tofu, tempeh and seitan can all be enjoyed on this day of thanks.
