Mayim Bialik is known for her vegan twist on holiday dinners as much as she is for her role as an actress.
She often shares her take on traditional Jewish entrees on sites like Kveller and this time of year, she’s showing readers what might end up on her Thanksgiving table in lieu of a turkey.
Check out a few of the items on Bialik’s Thanksgivukkah Menu:
Appetizers: Mocked Chopped Liver
Even meat lovers may cringe at the thought of this part of an animal being edible, but perhaps a faux version with mushrooms or some other plant is actually palatable. This is one dish Bialik may leave to her mother to prepare.
Writes the Big Bang actress:
“I can guarantee you no one will eat this. She has never made this before and she is the only person who ever enjoyed real chopped liver before she became vegetarian.”
For classic Jewish food, Bialik has included Pumpkin Squash Kreplach, latkes and Sufganiyot.
She’s keeping the sugary and refined carbs low, saving the vegan challah for another occasion.
