Quantcast Vegetarian StarGwyneth Paltrow Doesn’t Impress Everyone With Plants

Gwyneth Paltrow It's All Good

Gwyneth Paltrow has won over a few fans with her vegetarian and vegan recipes featured on her website Goop and cookbooks like It’s All Good.

But in a world where meat and potatoes are still King and Queen, it’s expected not everyone will appreciate them.

Such was the case during a book signing event at East Hampton Library’s Authors Night.

Several authors were gathered to meet and greet their fans.

One fellow female writer (who sounds like a vegan hater) was less than pleased with Paltrow’s presence.

Christina Oxenberg, author of the book Life is Short, wrote on her blog, “Due to the inflexibility of the alphabet, I had the questionable good fortune to be seated directly beside [Paltrow].”

Oxenberg complained of having to put up with Gwyneth’s veggie preachings, preferring instead to gobble up copious amounts of “sloppy hamburgers” and “stinky steak sandwiches.”

“Gwyneth’s bodyguards blocked my re-entry despite my assurance I was a just an author and pointing at my name tag, “No!” they growled, body blocking me. So I was forced to crawl under the table. And there I sat with my meat products, wafting the excellent smells toward my sleek vegan neighbor. She ignored the siren smells of protein. We never did say hello, although I did try to sell my book to her sleek vegan children. No bites.”
