Red Robbin Customers Complain Of Ad Saying Veggie Burgers Are Phase

Red Robin has made some of its vegetarians fan irate after a commercial aired suggesting the veggie burgers it serves are perfect for the teenage daughter you have that’s going through a change.
The ad features a female boasting about the 24 different types of burgers the chain has, adding, “We even have a garden burger just in case your teenage daughter is going through a phase.”
Customers took to Red Robin’s Facebook page to express their discontent.
“My family used to eat at Red Robin. Fortunately, it was just a phase.”
“Einstein was a vegetarian — guess he didn’t hear that he was a teenage girl going through a phase!”
Fortunately, the company’s website does a much better job of giving customer service to vegetarians, stating it has no problems meeting the demands of anyone going through such a phase.
“Most Red Robin restaurants in the U.S. offer both the BOCA Original Vegan Burger and a Gardenburger patty as meatless options for any burger or sandwich at no additional charge. In addition, we carry a wide range of salads and other entrees, which our Team Members will gladly customize to meet the dietary needs or preferences of our Guests.”
