Leilani Munter Wants NASCAR Fans To Test Drive Vegetarian Food

Leilani Munter fans will soon cheer her on as she drives her VegNation race car meant to promote a vegetarian diet for better health for people, the planet and animals.
But it will take more than a pro-veg banner on a race car to convince fans to go meatless.
They eventually will have to taste a veggie burger, sausage link or faux deli slice themselves.
“Obviously I know I’m not going to turn the NASCAR community vegan by doing this car,” the 37-year-old Munter said.
“But what I’m hoping to do is sort of encourage them to try some meat substitutes, to participating in ‘meatless Monday’ or just cutting back on their meat intake.”
“I feel like there’s a stereotype that vegans eat carrot sticks and celery all day, which is just not the truth.”
“If you were to look at my fridge, it would look very similar to somebody else just down the street. It’s just my sausage links will be a vegan version of that.”
Munter has been known to leave recycling bins at the track to allow spectators to toss what would otherwise be trash in them.
Maybe it’s time to start serving samples of veggie links at the pit.
