Jenna Morasca Says Dogs Make You A “Survivor”
Written by Vegetarian Star on February 13th, 2013 in Actresses, Animal Issues.
Jenna Morasca, winner of Survivor: The Amazon, is featured in the March/April 2013 issue of All Animals magazine from the Humane Society of the United States.
Morasca has been a proponent of rescuing animals and animal welfare organizations since a child, as she can recall, “giving my allowance money to the humane society when I was in elementary school and … getting into fights with people over animals.”
As an adult, Morasca is just as robust, but feels everyone need not be someone who can survive in the jungle for a month to be healthy.
An act as simple as owning a dog could add years to your life.
“I read that people with dogs live longer and are healthier,” Morasca told the HSUS.
“You can easily see why that’s possible. It forces you to get outside. It’s also bringing humor and unconditional love into your life. There’s been plenty of times when I’ve had awful days, and then the dog will do something completely ridiculous or snuggle with you, and you just remember how precious life is.”
