Dr. Oz Recommends Vegetarian Items During Emergencies

Dr. Oz has some great advice for stocking up on items you may need during an emergency, such as a flood or snow storm, that may keep you stuck at home for a few days.
Like much of the other advice he gives, once again Oz recommends plant-based items for such times for health and energy.
Canned lentils, for example, can be stored for up to three years and offer a great high-protein alternative to meat.
“Each can is packed full of fiber and protein,” Oz said. “They make for a great hearty vegetarian meal and they are the perfect ingredient for a lot of different dishes to make.”
Oz also recommends boxed milk, which can also be purchased in non-dairy versions, such as soy, almond and rice.
According to Oz, during the past 30 years, 27 million Americans have been affected by natural disasters. Make sure you’re prepared to continue living the healthy vegetarian life if one should strike your area by preparing a disaster kit with numerous plant-based items today.
