“Cupcake Wars” Approaches Vegan Treats Danielle Konya

Vegan Treats, a vegan bakery in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania owned and operated by Danielle Konya, was recently named a top 10 bakery of World’s Best Bakeries by American Express.
In addition to having a large celebrity clientele, Konya may now be given more fame by appearing on the Food Network sweet competition, Cupcake Wars.
If chosen to compete, she would be joining the likes other other vegan bakers who made appearances on the show, including Doran Petersan of D.C.’s Sticky Fingers and Chloe Coscarelli.
Starting the bakery in 1995, Konya wanted to prove that vegan desserts can be just as good as egg and dairy ones. She then perfected her menu with items like the chocolate-peanut butter mousse bomb cake which American Express said defies “the perception that cutting out dairy means sacrificing indulgence.”
If chosen for Cupcake Wars, Konya will have a chance for a $10,000 prize and the opportunity to cater for a high-profile event.
