Glee is all about rooting for the underdog. Or at least singing for him.
Kevin McHale, who plays soul-singing “Artie Abrams” on the hit Fox television series, is singing praises for animals in shelters all across the world.
Posing with his rescue dog Sophie, McHale reminds all of us we should “Always root for the underdog” and adopt our next pet versus buying one from a pet store.
“I think the biggest thing is just knowing that it exists,” McHale said of the option to adopt from shelters.
“Knowing that in the back of your mind that there is somewhere else to look for pets and they need homes.”
If you didn’t already know where to get your next pet, there are several online directories to steer you in the right direction.
The ASPCA has a nationwide shelter finder, and Pet Finder is another site that allows you to search for shelters and rescue groups by your location.
