Quantcast Vegetarian StarMitt Romney Father Got Free McDonald’s Burgers For Life

Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney recently told the media his father received a gift card good for a lifetime’s worth of free McDonald’s hamburgers, shakes and french fries.

Keep eating like that regularly and that lifetime is sure to be shorter than those who actually pay for it.

Romney shared the story of the late George Romney’s burger boon during a fundraising event filled with restaurant industry executives.

Going through his father’s drawer on day, he found a card that was signed by the man behind the fast food chain, Ray Kroc.

“My dad had done a little training lesson or whatever for McDonald’s when there was
just a handful of restaurants and I saw this thing and was like, ‘This is a gold mine, dad! What are you doing?’” Romney said.

“So I had it laminated,” Romney continued. “My dad, as you know, would go almost every day to a McDonald’s restaurant and get either a hamburger or a fish filet sandwich. And he would present this little card and of course the person behind the counter would look and say, well, what is that? They’d never seen something like that, but he said it was never turned down. They always honored it.”

While vegetarians and vegans consider a lifetime membership to McDonald’s to be anything but honorable (unless you’re in India), at least Romney’s father, unlike Obama, probably kept his indulgences private.
