Vegetarian Star

PETA has released its list of top vegetarian friendly major and minor league ball parks and the Philadelphia Phillies Citizens Bank Park hit a home run with favorites like “vegan chicken-steak sandwich, veggie “pit beef” smothered in barbecue sauce, an Italian vegetable grinder, and ever-popular veggie dogs and black-bean burgers.”

Just because the Phillies came in at #1, doesn’t mean your favorite team doesn’t have a host of great vegetarian fare to choose from. Here are some of the most interesting and/or delicious combinations Vegetarian Star picked out from the top 10 list.

• Minnesota Twins’ Target Field: The #10 park has an apple pie that’s “accidentally vegan.” A winning game calls for a celebration with the park’s vegan mousse martinis.
• Pittsburgh Pirates’ PNC Park: Fried green tomatoes could make a veggie burger more interesting.
• Washington Nationals’ Nationals Park: One word. Vegenaise. Vegenaise. Vegenaise. Not too many places where you can have your veggie burger with vegan mayo too.
• Los Angeles Dodgers’ Dodger Stadium: Veggie Sushi.
• Seattle Mariners’ Safeco Field: If the the Bombay Veggie Dog are anything like the burgers–spiced with garlic and curry and lots of veggies–then take us out to the ball game immediately.
