Rob Thomas and his wife Marisol have donated over a quarter of a million dollars to an animal shelter in Puerto Rico.
Pet’s Alive, received the donation in two parts: $125,000 from the Thomases personally and $225,000 from their charitable organization, the Sidewalk Angels Foundation.
“We were doing rescue there remotely,” said Marisol. “And we realized there was really a need there. I wanted to see a real change happen on the island.”
“The only way to rescue an animal isn’t to take it away from Puerto Rico,” Rob said. “There’s a much deeper way to change the way people there think about all these animals.”
The Thomases themselves own two rescue dogs, a terrier-dachshund mix named Oliver, and a Pomeranian named Samy.
