Heloise Tip For Great Vegetarian Refried Beans
Written by Vegetarian Star on June 26th, 2012 in Authors, Food & Drink, Recipes.
Heloise has given great eco-friendly tips in the past, like using vinegar from the grocery store shelf to disinfect instead of those chemical-laden cleaning products.
Now the world’s most popular lifestyle writer for household, food, travel and pet ideas has a great tip to give your vegetarian refried bean dip an extra kick.
Already made bean dip can be expensive, as one reader wrote to Heloise. A cost-saving method is to buy a can of beans yourself and add your own seasoning.
In addition to taking a can of refried beans and adding taco mix, Heloise says you can also add, “some hot sauce or a teaspoon of chili powder. I always have several cans in the pantry to be able to fix dip quickly if needed.”
Choose a brand of beans from a company that pledges to package without BPA. Here’s a recipe to guide you along the way.
It will always Taco Tuesday at your home!
