The characters of TNT’s revival of the 20-year old CBS television series Dallas have finally returned to screen.
A lot has changed since the 80s and 90s. People are eating better. Being fuel efficient. And there’s no reason why J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) and his brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy), his son John Ross (Josh Henderson) and his cousin Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) should be doing anything different.
Bobby’s adopted son has even established an alternative fuel company.
And in real life, several characters are vegetarian, like Hagman and Julie Gonzalo, who plays the Tesla electric driving Christopher’s fiance.
“I’m a vegetarian. I recycle, I do everything that I can do,” said Gonzalo, an Argentinian who remembers her mother watching the show in Spanish.
Hagman, who also promotes alternative energy, took the advice of his co-star Linda Gray to shun meat products after being diagnosed with throat cancer.
“She said, ‘It’ll get you off all those steroids in turkey, chicken and beef, and it’ll cleanse your body.’ I drink these kale, spinach and cucumber things and it makes me feel great.”
