Kimberly Elise Says Hello Vegan Goodbye Stomach Problems

Kimberly Elise, known for her roles in films such as Beloved, For Colored Girls and Diary of a Mad Black Woman, had been a vegetarian for over a decade before she finally took the vegan plunge.
“I didn’t like dairy anyway,” she said.
Now that milk and cheese are out of the picture, Elise has more room for the raw foods she enjoys on a regular basis–fruits, vegetables and nuts.
Being the health conscious person she is, she likes shopping for non-GMO items, but feels the industry needs to do a bit more to dislose what is GMO and what isn’t. She supports a campaign that aims for this, LabelGMOs.org.
“There’s a campaign right now at LabelGMOs.org to require labeling so people will at least know. I’m helping in whatever way I can because it’s a really important issue. GMOs hurt us on many levels. We’re to get a million signatures on a petition.”
