Nikki James just scored a Tony for her role in The Book of Mormon, a religious satire musical from the creators of South Park.
The musical may poke fun of organized religion and its teachings, but if there is any sin James might be concerned with in real life, it’s the eating of too much meat.
The actress gave an interview to Shape.com, where she revealed it’s easy to keep the faith and live righteously with plant sources of protein like tofu.
“I’m really into lean protein. Tonight for dinner I’m having pan-seared tofu with Asian peanut sauce and noodles. Tofu is a great way to get lean protein if you’re not into eating a ton of meat. Also, because my mom makes delicious Haitian food, dishes like rice and beans are comfort food to me.”
James’ favorite pick-me-up snack food is a peanut butter and banana sandwich with honey on whole grain breads. Nuts are also on her worship agenda.
Sounds heavenly.
