Quantcast Vegetarian StarCelebrity Trainer Marco Borges Creates Vegan Protein Bars

Marco Borges is the man behind the sleek physiques of many celebrities, including Beyonce. Borges is the author of the book Power Moves and creator of a line of vegan protein bars, 22 Days.

This personal trainer who gave fitness advice in Vogue’s annual Shape issue happens to also be a vegan. He got the idea for the protein bars based on the notion that it takes 21 days to make a new habit.

22 Days bars are organic and made without soy, high-fructose corn syrup and gluten. They’re also trans-fat free with no cholesterol. Flavors like Nut Butter Buddha Crunch, Goji Matte Firecracker and Enlightened Pumpkinseed come wrapped in bar that is around 200 calories and contains on average about 10 grams of vegan protein.

“I became a vegan in search of optimum health but can’t say that ethical reasons haven’t played a role,” Borges told Opposing Views.

“They say necessity is the mother of invention and, well, we all need healthy options for pre- and post- workouts, as well as smart meal replacements, but I could not find what I needed. So I created my own line of vegan, organic nutrition products that will never contain soy, dairy or gluten.”

22 Days bars can be ordered online and cost around $35 for a box of 12.

Mike and I agree that “healthy options for pre- and post- workouts, as well as smart meal replacements” can be really hard to find and we are looking forward to trying the 22 Days bars. We are especially interested because they are vegan and with made real nutrition in mind. We have also found bars that meet the same high standards for nutritional requirements at enutritionbars.com
