Ed Begley Jr. Makes “Natural Selection” At Portland Restaurant

Ed Begley Jr., his wife and family were spotted having dinner at Portland’s Natural Selection restaurant, an eatery featuring vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items.
Sources say Begley promised he’d return when he was in Portland again.
Just what is it about chef Aaron Woo, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy’s restaurant that would make Begley begley for more?
Natural Selection features a 4-course meal that enables customers to order from a completely vegan and gluten-free column or a column that contains some vegan and gluten-free items, the rest being vegetarian.
Vegetarians may choose to dine on the “stinging nettle pistou with pappardelle pasta” featuring acorn squash, parsnip, fried chickpeas and parmesan for course 3, while their vegan counterparts will want to order the “sweet & sour broccoli rabe” with kohlrabi gratin, marcona almonds and zinfandel sauce.
Dessert may be the best part of the menu as both columns feature vegan sweets: a “rhubarb upside down cake” with vanilla coconut cream and candied kumquats or a “strawberry tart” with passion fruit sauce, balsamic and rosemary pecans.
