Parvesh Cheena Of “Outsourced” Can’t Give Up Dairy
Written by Vegetarian Star on February 15th, 2011 in Actors, Food & Drink, pescatarian.
Parvesh Cheena plays Gupta, an employee everybody loves to avoid on NBC’s “Outsourced,” a sitcom about an Indian call center located in Mumbai for an American-based catalog ordering company.
Cheena is a pescatarian who will add more “almond milk, brown rice and stir fry” to his diet when trying to eat healthier. He’s also got a weakness for cauliflower. However, he admits he is a cheese-aholic and it’s the only thing standing between him and veganism. Or maybe one of those weird vegans who eat fish occasionally.
“My big downfall is deep-dish pizza from Chicago,” Cheena told CNN’s Eatocracy. “That is why I can’t go vegan – I can’t give up cheese. I can’t give up dairy.”
Or maybe he hasn’t found the right vegan cheese on the comprehensive list of those available.
Cheena recognizes the importance of moderation, though. He’d like to sit down with one of his favorite Food Network chefs and tell her to practice it.
Can you guess which chef that is? Here are a few hints: butter, bacon, butter and butter bacon.
“I’m kind of fascinated by Paula Deen. I’ve been to her restaurant, The Lady and Sons, in Savannah. My friend was studying in the area and we ate at her restaurant and it was right at the cusp where Paula Deen became Paula Deen. I’d be curious because her spinach artichoke dip is fantastic, [as is] her eggplant Parmesan and shrimp scampi. I’d sit with her and say: ‘Paula, we can’t eat this everyday.'”
