Art Smith, Tal Ronnen Serve Vegan Food At Dalai Lama Luncheon Hosted By Canadian Tibetan

Chef Art Smith was personally invited to cook for the Dalai Lama this past weekend in Toronto at a VIP guest luncheon hosted by The Canadian Tibetan.
Chef Smith served Southern Fried Vegan Chicken with Local Greens and Apple Cobbler with Buttery Short Crust, Whipped Cream and Candied Spiced Pecans.
Smith brought along several guests, including vegan chef, cookbook author and consultant chef for Oprah Winfrey, Tal Ronnen.
According to Chicago Now, the guests especially loved the fact the entire meal was vegetarian!
Smith and his crew also used entirely local produce for the meal.
To create that Southern Fried Chicken experience without the saturated fat, cholesterol or KFC-like cruelty of slaughtering birds, try this recipe for Southern Fried Vegetarian Chicken using deep-fried, breaded seitan.

Uh, no, the flesh-devouring DL most assuredly didn’t love that fact. He probably had someone deliver him KFC later.
