Vegetarian Pamela Anderson Sandwich On Menu In Midwest Restaurant

Restaurant aren’t always on target when naming dishes after celebrities. Some can’t spell Carrie Underwood’s name correctly or remember that she doesn’t eat meat. Something tells us Natalie Portman wouldn’t eat her own lobster salad at a New York eatery. But finally, a family owned restaurant in the midwest has gotten it right with the Vegetarian Pamela Anderson sandwich.
Tortas Guicho Dominguez y el Cubanito in Indianapolis, Indiana (that’s quite a mouthful to blurt out where to eat when you’re hungry) has a sandwich on the menu fit for the sex symbol actress to consume, containing green bell peppers, mozzarella, and mushrooms.
This restaurant, while not vegetarian, has some unique plant based offerings in place of the traditional basket of fries or chips. Grab all the free peanuts you want while waiting on your meal. A side of cucumbers is served with each sandwich that can be topped with tomato, jalapeno and avocado.
“If we gave everyone chips, they’d have no room left for sandwiches,” said Laura Zarco, co-owner and wife of Felipe Zarco. Plus, the free peanuts may help customers save some of their sandwich for lunch the next day, as they’ve been shown to curb appetite and make people consume less calories.
The couple ran a similar restaurant in Chicago for 10 years before setting up shop in the Fletcher Place area of Indianpolis.
The Pamela Anderson isn’t the final meatless stop. There are plans for a vegetarian combo as well.
