Animal Planet is premiering a new docu-series about people who own one animal too many. Paris Hilton isn’t expected to be featured, but the series will take a look at the psychological motivations behind animal hoarding and will have the hoarders’ friends and family, psychologists, animal welfare experts and veterinarians to help the hoarder get to the root of the problem.
More on Confessions: Animal Hording, from Discovery:
“Each episode delves into the hearts and minds of individuals who hoard a variety of species (cats, dogs, birds, farm animals, fish, etc.); the series also provides an opportunity for family members and friends to help their loved ones and prevent them from spinning further out of control.”
Animal hoarding is defined as the compulsive need to possess and control animals, which leads to collecting them in high numbers where the population becomes unmanageable.
Confessions: Animal Hoarding premiers Wednesday, July 21st a 9PM ET.
