Bob Harper has a new sidekick who’d make a great addition to his fitness DVDs or help cheer on the contestants on his team on The Biggest Loser.

The dog is a  rescue animal from Animal Advocates Alliance, according to the LA Times.

At first Harper was reluctant to take in “Karl,” given his busy schedule, but after one encounter with the black and white pup, there was no turning back. Harper used the opportunity to voice his support for animal shelters and warn against going to a mill.

“It just kills me when people spend money on a dog when there are dogs in shelters waiting for someone to take them,” he said. “I want to tell them, ‘No! Those are puppy mills!'”

Yep, this pretty much makes him the biggest winner.

Animal Advocates Alliance is a non-profit that rescues animals from other city and county shelters in California, promotes spaying/neutering programs, educates on pitfalls of pet shops and are legal advocates in supporting animal welfare legislation, including helping to prosecute those who violate the laws.
