Miranda Lambert performed at a concert that made two legged people happy and benefited four legged animals.
The country singer was part of the lineup at the third annual “Paws for Cause” concert, combining entertainment with a benefit auction that raised $91,000 dollars to animals affected by the recent floods in the Nashville, Tennessee area, as well as the East Texas Humane Society.
“Since we started working with the Humane Society of East Texas over three years ago, we have donated over $325,000 and they have become a ‘no kill’ shelter,” Lambert said. “Every year it amazes me that people spend their hard-earned money to partner with us in this fight. I am very grateful!”
Several celebrity items were big hits during the auction portion of the show, including a Gibson Goddess electric guitar signed by members of ZZ Top, which earned the event $8,000.
Besides Lambert, performers for Paws For Cause included Whiskey Myers, Kacey Musgraves and Nightwork and Lambert‘s fiance Blake Shelton.
