As I did, I began to become aware of the terrible exploitation of animals in the world and felt compelled to try to rectify the situation. And that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.”
—Bob Barker, on how he became involved in animal rights, especially by donating money to various organizations, including setting up an Animal Law program at a university and helping PETA renovate a building for their Los Angeles headquarters. Recently, lion cubs freed under the new Bolivian law banning animals in circuses were sent to a refuge made possible by a generous donation from Barker.
