Georges Laraque: Professional hockey player, animal rights activist, and vegetarian evangelist?
The Montreal Gazette reports that after one reader learned Georges was an animal free athlete, it inspired her friend to go veg as well.

Although I’m not a hockey fan, I admire Laraque for challenging the stereotypes about sports and diet and showing that a successful athlete doesn’t have to bulk up on animal protein.”
“If it weren’t for this article, which explained that Laraque went vegan after watching the Earthlings documentary on the abuse of animals, my friend would not have called me and told me he was going vegetarian.”
