Ellen DeGeneres Vegan Tacos Recipe
Written by Vegetarian Star on October 1st, 2009 in Food & Drink, Recipes, TV Hosts.
The secret is out.
The vegan tacos Ellen DeGeneres loves to devour at home can now be yours, thanks to her personal chef, Roberto Martin, spilling the lard-free refried beans.
Roberto was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently and the two demonstrated how to make Ellen’s favorite tacos.
Check out the recipe.

Onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, lime juice, & kosher salt to taste.

Onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, lime juice, & kosher salt to taste.
– Daiya Vegan Cheese (Can be found at Whole Foods and other health food stores)

Haven’t found Daiya in my town yet, but I heard it’s incredible.

Way to go Ellen for going vegan and for using the world’s newest, and best, vegan cheese! (and there’s NO soy in it contrary to what her chef said, which is very cool as I’m soyed-out) I can’t wait until it’s more widely available, but I’ve managed to get it in the deli section at Mother’s Markets and a few Whole Foods. It melts really, really great too!

Mmmm…her chef remembered the cumin. You’d be surprised how many already made guacamoles I’ve had that didn’t have cumin in it. I’d have to break open my spice jar and toss a bunch in there-it’s definitely an essential for an guacamole.

I’ve never like Yves products…Why is there a need for both refried beans and fake ground. Usually one or the other is sufficient.
