Fred Mascherino took a moment to Tweet his love for breakfast food at the Chicago Diner.
“Vegan French toast the The Chicago Diner- kickin’ ass!”
Chicagoans know Chicago Diner has the best in vegan and vegetarian home style breakfast items like tofu mock egg scrambles, seitan sausages, and biscuits with vegan gravy.
And Fred’s not the only celebrity to order off the menu.
Ellen DeGeneres likes the Diner’s seitan hot wings so much, she had them Fed’exed to her studios in California.
Eh, yeah we know it’s not so green to fly food that far.
But hey, the food was vegan so it took some of the weight off Ellen’s footprint.
For a more environmentally friendly way to enjoy the Diner’s hot wings, take a train to the Windy City on a road trip and stockĀ up on meals like Sweet and Sour Tofu, vegan Chicago Style Hot Doggs, and Parmesan “Chickin” Caesar salad.
