The Zookeeper, a movie about a man who wins a lady’s love, recently began filming.

The company Birds & Animals Unlimited has been contracted to supply animals for the film, although PETA alleges it has a rap sheet of USDA violations longer than a giraffe’s neck.

PETA has taken the opportunity to write to Rosario Dawson, Adam Sandler, Cher and Sylvester Stallone asking them not to use the company’s services.

“We’re hoping to enlist the film’s stars to keep cruelty off the set,” said PETA spokesperson Amanda Schinke.

“Exotic animals used as involuntary ‘actors’ are routinely subjected to rigorous and abusive training methods to coerce them into performing acts that are stressful, uncomfortable, confusing and even painful.”

Even better, PETA suggests The Zookeeper crew take advantage of modern technology such as computer generated imagery.

A spokesperson for the animal rights group, Debbie Leahy said, “When it comes to exotic animal characters, the best casting choice is to ‘fake it.’ Even under the best of circumstances, captivity can be hell for exotic animals.”
