Ellen Pompeo Ain’t Going Vegetarian. Never. Not In A Million Years.
Written by Vegetarian Star on April 9th, 2009 in Actresses, Not So Vegetarian.
She may eat veggie burgers from time to time ever since Sandra Oh took the Grey’s Anatomy cast and crew to lunch at Truly Vegan, but Ellen Pompeo insists she’s never becoming vegetarian. And we think the excuse is just plain tipesh.
Pompeo recently told People magazine, “I tried, but I get too skinny, and people think I’m anorexic. It just doesn’t suit my body type.”
“I’m naturally a waif,” she said.
She added that she works out extensively with a trainer three days a week to build muscle.
Ellen, Ellen, Ellen! You’ve been reading the wrong bodybuilding magazines.
We’re betting Brendan Brazier and his peeps at Vega would beg to differ and offer Ellen a nice collection of vegan protein powders and other supplements necessary to be a beefcake without the beef.
At least Ellen loads up on fruits and vegetables and avoid sugars and white flour.

Yet another example of a dingy Hollywood actress who doesn’t know anything about nutrition. If she did, she wouldn’t have worn herself thin when she was a vegetarian. She probably just ate salad three times a day. 🙁

Anyone with a brain knows vegetarians do not get under weight when they eat enough fat and calories and that’s so easy to do. What a moron .

I love Ellen, don’t get me wrong, but this had me taken aback. I am a vegan and I have been for several years know. I also have Celiac, and thus stay away from wheat gluten, and I am a curvy size 10. Even though many factors go into what determines your size, I do believe that there are always loopholes…you just have to be willing to try.

Vegetarianism should be an obvious moral choice. I think it is high time for all of us to become vegans and stop the awful animal abuse world wide. People like Ellen have the wonderful opportunity to act as role models in this respect. What a pity that the feels her body issues are more important.

It is not wrong or illegal to eat meat, religious matter aside, people have the choice whether they decide to be vegetarian or not.
I find some vegetarian thinks meat eaters are sick! but that’s not true (as long as they have a balance diet), and that thinking is very unhealthy. We all have our own beliefs, we don’t necessary have to understand them, but at least respect them.
