Russell Simmons Demands Special “Vegan Risottos” At Nick And Toni’s

Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons is an outspoken vegan who was once quoted as saying, “I don’t eat anything that runs away from me,” to describe his diet.
His name was dropped by a chef at “Nick and Toni’s” Restaurant in East Hampton, NY. The restaurant is celebrating its 20th birthday and Chef Joseph Realmuto spoke with the New York Times regarding sometimes difficult customers. “The celebrities are not the fussy ones,” Realmuto said. “It’s the others, who want to feel like celebrities, who are the fussy ones.”
The article then said that Realmuto does make “special vegan risotto for Simmons”.
Fussy? So that’s what they think of us when we demand a list of ingredients and what surfaces things are cooked on, and a million other questions about the orgins of “natural flavors.”
VegetarianStar thinks all vegs in NY and across the nation should go to Nick and Toni’s and every other restaurant and start acting like a celebrity.
