Joanna Lumley Backs Better Cow Welfare In Europe
Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 in Actresses, Animal Issues.

Joanna Lumley supports a campaign that would establish better standards for dairy cows all across Europe.
The European Citizens’ Initiative seeks to, “inspire and mobilise European citizens to call for a specific directive that guarantees improved animal welfare for dairy cows” and targets legislation dealing with four key areas of cow welfare: housing, health, feeding and behavior.
“It’s our chance to say we don’t want to see our cows forced indoors, unable to graze in the summer fields, and to ask the EU to give them the protection they deserve,” Lumley said.
