Lee Daniels Considers Opening Vegan Restaurant

The Butler director Lee Daniels considered adopting a vegan diet in 2013 after learning the actor playing the lead role in his film about serving guests at the White House followed one.
Now that he’s been eating more like Forest Whittaker, Daniels is considering opening a restaurant they both can dine at.
When asked what motivated him on the decision, Daniels replied:
“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gained weight.”
“African Americans, we have to be careful of our weight — so I am thinking about opening a vegan soul food restaurant.”
Daniels isn’t quite a vegan yet, but says he trimmed his animal consumption down to fish and eggs.
Plans for the menu will have to be worked on between time spent on Empire, an upcoming series on the hip hop world.
