“Rev Run’s Sunday Suppers” On Cooking Channel Will Praise Veggie Dishes

Joseph Simmons, better known as one of the founding members of Run D.M.C, Rev Run, and his wife Justine, will be welcoming viewers into their home for several meals on a new reality TV show.
Rev Run’s Sunday Suppers is a six episode series that premiers this Sunday at 9.00 p.m. on The Cooking Channel.
The now ordained Pentecostal minister who’s invited fans into a glimpse of his private life with previous series like Run’s House and Rev Run’s Renovation said that although he and Justine now come to a relatively empty house, he’s looking to bring his family together for at least one day of the week.
Wife Justine hints that at least one of the episodes will feature vegetarian cooking.
Several of their children are into healthy eating and daughter Angela is a vegetarian.
“We bring in friends and family with their recipes,” she said. “My sister, Michelle Jones, is a chef; she will come and make her famous macaroni and cheese. Angela is going to come and have her veggie tacos. Daniel, “Diggy,” he’s eating very, very healthy and helping us eat healthy as well.”
The show will also address some of the rising health problems that have been linked to a poor diet and –as some would argue– not cooking in the kitchen enough.
“We are getting older, number one, and we need to take care of ourselves,” Run said. “My father had diabetes, my father passed. Her father has diabetes. When you’re older than 40 years old and African-American, you’ve got double the risk of having diabetes.”
“We just want to teach people about eating right.”
