5 Ways To Throw An Awesome Garden Party
Written by Vegetarian Star on September 30th, 2013 in Food & Drink, Gardening.
Having a party at any time of year can be a lot of fun, but during the summer, it is possible to extend that party out into the garden. In the hot sun, plenty of cool drinks and nibbles can be the perfect way to have a good time, and by inviting friends and relatives it is possible to extend those good times and turn them into a proper celebration. Whether you want to have a few friends over for drinks because the weather is warm and your garden looks great, or if you have a particular reason to throw a party, a garden-themed party can be the ideal setting. There are several ways in which you can throw your party.
1) A barbecue
This is the ultimate type of garden party, and one that everyone is familiar with. The secret here is not to allow the party to go on for too long before food is served; it is also a good idea to make sure that the food is well cooked. Keep your guests cool by holding the party under outdoor patio umbrellas, so they can choose whether to stand out in the sun, or sit in the shade. These types of garden party are always popular, and they can be a simple but effective way of making sure that everyone has a great time.
2) Night Party
The hot summer days mean that the light lasts longer, and it is always possible to use low-level lighting so that guests can find their way up and down the garden. These parties are great, because they allow you to hold a party without the risks of heatstroke or burning which might occur during the day. Make sure to have a fire pit or other device to ensure that guests don’t get cold.
3) Afternoon Garden Party
It is possible to hold a garden party whenever you like, but holding one in the afternoon can be more risky than you might expect. This is because the sun in the afternoon is more intense than in the evening or at night. In order to hold a successful party after midday, make sure that you provide plenty of outdoor patio umbrellas and other canopies, to allow your guests to stay cool during the party. It is also a good idea to provide plenty of chilled drinks, but hold back on the alcohol so that people don’t become dehydrated.
4) A Pool Party
Another way of making sure that your garden party goes with a swing is to hold it in a pool. There are lots of different pools available these days, from DIY plastic sides that sit above the ground, to dug-in pools which need to be installed by specialists. A hot-tub or Jacuzzi-type pool could be an alternative to larger models, and can also be a good idea for those hosting their parties in the evening and at night.
5) A Themed Party
Of course, holding a themed party can happen at any time of year, but with a garden party, themes can include flowers and plants, fantasy characters, or things which would be too large to wear in a single room. Guests might be uncomfortable in large or heavy costumes, particularly if it’s warm outside. Make sure that you cover your ground with large or decorative outdoor patio umbrellas like those available from YescomUSA.
