Adriana de Moura “Real Housewives” Star For PETA And Lolita The Orca

Adriana de Moura is starring in a PETA advertisement that asks fans of the Real Housewives of Miami actress to consider how they’d feel stuck in a small pool of water for the past four decades.
“Can You Live in a Bathtub for 40 Years?” draws attention to the captivity of Lolita, an orca whale housed at the Miami Seaquarium since 1970.
In Adriana’s home country of Brazil, such a practice is illegal.
She’s hopes the U.S. will consider taking on the same compassion the Brazilians have and imagine what it is teaching to children and other visitors to the aquarium.
“When you take your children to a park where an animal is being kept for years in confined quarters .… in this age, where we’re supposed to be so enlightened—equality for everybody—it’s a hypocrisy,” she says. “You’re sending a message to your children that it’s OK to dominate, it’s OK to confine.”
Currently, the the National Marine Fisheries Service is contemplating moving Lolita to a controlled, but freer environment–a coastal sanctuary– where her 82-year old mother is living. This could possible is she’s awarded the Endangered Species Protection the rest of her family has been granted.
