Alanis Morissette “Energy Times” Interview Covers Food Around The World
Written by Vegetarian Star on August 16th, 2013 in Female Singers, Food & Drink.
Alanis Morissette is gracing the cover of the July/August 2013 issue of the nutrition and health magazine Energy Times.
Inside she reveals her passion for cooking, especially International cuisine.
When she has the pleasure of preparing meals for others, she finds turning to ethnic dishes is a guaranteed way to make everyone happy.
“My greatest culinary joy is when I turn to my family or friends and say, “What country?” she told the magazine.
“They say, “Thailand.” Then I spend the next couple of days putting together the best version of a Thai soup that I can. Or they’ll say, “Mexico,” so I’ll do my homework.”
These same friends may get a little testy when they hear Alanis has adopted more of a pescatarian diet.
“I’m very aware of food as medicine. My son is vegan and I’m about 80% vegan; my vegan friends hate it when I say that.”
It’s almost certain they’re a little more forgiving after they’ve been fed by her Indian dish of quinoa and garbanzo beans or Asian soup.
