Al Rokie can predict a health disaster as well as he can forecast the weather.
The Today host dramatically transformed his body and his outlook for a longer life by losing almost half of himself.
Much of the details of his journey going from 350 pounds to 190 are included in his book, Never Goin’ Back: Winning the Weight Lost Battle for Good.
If you want to follow Al on such a trip and never go back to obesity and all the risks it carries such as heart disease, diabetes and heart failure, you might try following his footsteps when it comes to breakfast.
Roker enjoys smoothies such as the one he shared on Anderson Live.
The recipe is simple. Blend together protein powder, 8-oz. vanilla almond milk, 4 – 6 oz. frozen berries mix (strawberries and blueberries), 1 tablespoon minced ginger and 1 teaspoon Agave Nectar.
Don’t forget to keep it vegan and choose a soy, hemp, rice or other plant-based powder.
