Kate Stoltzfus is one of the stars of Breaking Amish, a TLC series about young Amish and Mennonite young adults who move to New York to experience a life quite different from the one back home.
One of Stoltzfus’ biggest changes since entering the world outside of her community is the chance to sign on for a modeling contract and show a little more skin than she would while wearing her bonnet in the old neighborhood.
“Before I had even signed a contract with a modeling agency, I did a test shoot to see if I could photograph well, and the first outfit they put me in was a bathing suit!” she said. “I have to admit it was a little intimidating, but now I enjoy doing it.”
There’s no need to be intimidated when your an Amish gal who used to working up a sweat in her own garden. Home-cooked meals made from vegetables she would grow herself is just one of the bonuses to dating her. And guys, it is a nice consolation prize after after getting whipped while playing a game of ping-pong with her.
“There are definitely a lot of Amish women who have great bodies, because they work hard. They also eat really healthy, since they grow their own food,” Stolzfus said, adding that she misses being at home because she could care for her own plants.
